Art
I have been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil, and my skills have steadily improved over that time. I mostly draw in pencil and ink on paper, but have experience with other physical mediums. I particularly enjoy drawings centered on a fantasy genre, but do have skills regarding subjects of other genres as well. These skills could be put to use for concept are or to clarify design documentation. Here are a few examples of some of my work:
Drow Sorcerer
This was a piece I drew to represent a character I played as in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. As such it incorporates many fantasy elements in its design, from the fantastical armor to the cape composed of feathers. I love the contrast of light and dark on display in this drawing - it shows the conflicted nature of the character herself. She wields a rapier and magic, and is a dangerous foe to cross! I used pencil and colored pencil for this drawing. |
Norse Berserker
This piece was used as concept art representing the protagonist of BindRune, which is a game focused on Norse mythology. The design of the character utilizes its Nordic inspiration, which is incorporated into his attire, helmet, axe, and tattoo. This concept art even showcases the central mechanic of BindRune: runic spells, as he casts a destruction spell with a flourish of his blade, leaving an arc of magic in its wake and shattering the ground beneath his feet to destroy his foes. The pose is dynamic, showing both his strength and his determination - two necessary qualities for the opposition of the terrifying forces of Norse mythology! |
I Hope You Dance
This piece was made as a gift for my sister, who loves to dance with all of her heart. The dancer poses skyward, hopeful, and wears a skirt of delicate chrysanthemum petals of light blue and violet coloration, which was accomplished using colored pencil. Next to her, the highly stylized words "I hope you dance", a testament to how happy my sister is when she dances. I hope she has the time in her life to make herself happy, I hope she dances. |
Moonflower
This drawing depicts a delicate girl bathed in the soft radiance of the moon behind her, as she rests atop a field of moon flowers - the piece's namesake. I tend to struggle with faces and more normal subjects in my own art, so I made this piece to better myself at those aspects. The medium for Moonflower is ink, with all of the color being done in colored pencil. |
Moonlit Castle
This drawing focuses more on scenery than on any particular character. A blood red moon showing the dark reflection of a mysterious castle on a gossamer lake sounded like a fun concept to draw - so I did! I love how some of the more simple shapes and colors are combined to create a striking visual image in this piece. |
