Prismatic Sphere
In a world of shifting colors, navigate the prismatic sphere through complex levels and match the colors of the cubes to collect them all. Watch out for laser cannons, red cubes, pitfalls, and more as you solve each puzzle to collect all of the cubes. Use precise movement and intelligent thinking in order to achieve victory.
This color-changing game focuses on precise movement and puzzle-solving skills, and incorporates many interesting mechanics that can be applied and combined in a plethora of compelling ways.

This color-changing game focuses on precise movement and puzzle-solving skills, and incorporates many interesting mechanics that can be applied and combined in a plethora of compelling ways.
Level Design:
- Designed and built 27 unique levels
- Created a difficulty curve that increased from level to level to fully engage players
- Implemented interesting mechanics with many applications throughout puzzles
- Utilized mechanics in combination with one another to create even more interesting puzzles
- Developed levels focusing on both precise movement and puzzle solving elements
- Incorporated aesthetic elements into level design to make each level look and feel unique
- Designed a challenge mode to further engage expert players and increase replayability
Mechanics:
- Laser cannons utilizing ray tracing and line rendering
- Moving platforms that preserve the player's motion physics
- Objects that change the player's color on contact for puzzles
- Walls that only allow player passage if the player is the correct color
- Switches with multiple states which trigger environmental changes
- Springboards that launch the player upwards
Scripting:
- Player's movement based on acceleration and directional velocity
- Camera can rotate and the player's movement is based on the camera's position
- Player data saves settings and unlocked levels and is binary-encoded
- Audiomanager which dynamically changes the volume of sounds and music played based on settings
- Moving object script makes adding moving objects to each level simple
- Switch script determines what each switch changes about the environment
- Laser cannon script causes lasers to be fired in time with the cannon's animations
- Script which fades each scene in and out for aesthetic purposes
UI:
- Start Menu is aesthetically pleasing, and the menus are easily navigated
- Level select menu clearly indicates which levels are locked and which are playable
- Pause Menu is easily accessible and allows players to alter volume, change controls, and toggle the challenge timer
- Relevant information is presented in each level without obstructing the player's view of the level itself
Modeling:
- Color change cube to be aesthetically interesting while rotating
- Switch and its accompanying animation when activated
- Laser Cannon and its opening and closing animations while firing
